KraftModul
The KraftModul provides a stabilized voltage of 5V and 3.3V when applying a supply voltage between 6V and 20V. The idea is to have only one voltage control unit in the robot for all other modules instead of integrating it in each board. I'm not sure if this design really saves space and weight but anyway it simplifies design.
Schematic Diagram
Like all my circuits I've planed the schematic diagram and board layout with Eagle.
Finished Board
As always I've ordered the boards at Olimex. Soldering the parts is nothing special. The only thing you should keep in mind is when you solder a bigger part then check if you first have to solder a small part around which you can't reach later.
Comments for further processing
- Passing the VCC through to the same output header is not as practical as intended because it's nearly impossible to trim cables with appropriate diameter into the connector plug. In fact adding an second header like the one for the supply voltage would be better.
